SACFD Station No. 4

Fire Station 4 was the replacement of a legacy Station 4 originally constructed in 1972.  The project was the first project following the completion of the district wide feasibility study completed by DCS. With Commerce City’s population continuing to expand and SACFD transitioning from a mostly volunteer force to a career staff, redevelopment was a district necessity. DCS lead the entire redevelopment process including standardization of a new station program first demonstrated at Station 4. DCS played a major role in the civil site design, helping the District to resolve issues with the city planning department such as storm water detention, utilities, site access and right of ways. DCS performed all due diligence activities including the inception of geothermal wells, which were incorporated into the project and will save the District energy costs for the life of the building.

This 9,500 SF two-story project includes the latest in fire station design features including training props, First-In Alert System, fitness center and state of the art kitchen. This station will serve the needs of the district for many years to come and DCS is proud to help set a high standard for SACFD’s future growth.  

Full-service owner’s representation services:

• Program identification and standardization
• Development and management of master budget and schedule
• City of Commerce City development plan and re-zoning facilitation
• Dry utility coordination
• Design management
• Construction oversight
• Solicitation, procurement and contract administration: survey, geotech, environmental analysis,
         3^rd party inspections, materials testing, architect, contractor, etc.
• Management of FF&E process, identification and procurement

Civil engineering services:

• Landscape and lighting plans to support initiation of City's site cevelopment review process
• Civil plans including site selective demolition, grading, detention and drainage design, sanitary sewer,
         utilities coordination, parking, site lighting, access and right of ways
• Coordination with the City's public works department and South Adams County Water and Sanitation District
