The Fleet Building Expansion project is an extension of the existing Fleet Maintenance building adjacent to Fire Station #4. The new expansion consists of three new vehicle bays as well as an administration area, kitchen/breakroom, restrooms, and mezzanine area for additional storage. The exterior of the building consists of new, additional vehicle parking, landscaping, signage, an oil/lube storage area, and a diesel generator to provide optional standby power for the entire facility.
DCS assisted the District with the purchase of additional, adjacent land required to build the expansion project. We also led the rezoning effort on the newly purchased half acre which was required to build the addition. Obtaining project approval from Commerce City Planning Department, during the pandemic, proved to be challenging and required additional time than originally planned for. Ultimately, the project was completed on budget and provided the District the additional space and tools to keep their fleet maintained and operational.
